Removal of teeth can be elective, preventative, or due to a disease process. When infected teeth cannot be restored with any other treatment option, an extraction may be needed to prevent further complications to the patient’s overall health. Wisdom teeth or broken down teeth can cause a lot of pain or cause decay on the adjacent teeth. In order to relieve or prevent these consequences, extractions may be suggested. Elective extractions may be required for good results before orthodontic treatment (Invisalign or traditional braces) or to relieve severely crowded teeth. Extractions only require local anesthetic but we offer and strongly recommend minimal conscious sedation to make the experience easier for you.
